Reconnect Your Kiosk to Wi-Fi After an Internet or Password Change

If you switched internet providers, changed your Wi-Fi password, or replaced your router, your kiosk will lose its connection until you reconnect it manually. This guide helps you identify your kiosk model and points you to the exact steps for it.

Before You Start

Have these ready before walking over to the kiosk:

  • The exact name of your Wi-Fi network (SSID) — spelling and capitalization matter.

  • The current Wi-Fi password.

  • A USB keyboard, but only if your kiosk uses a Chromebox (see the table below).

A few things worth knowing:

  • If you got a new router, your old network may still be saved on the kiosk. The kiosk will keep trying to reach the old network and may appear stuck. Each device guide below shows where to remove (or "forget") the old network before connecting to the new one.

  • If you have more than one kiosk, repeat these steps on each unit — they don't share settings.

  • If your kiosk is connected with a network cable (Ethernet) instead of Wi-Fi, simply plug the cable into your new router and restart the kiosk. If it's still offline after that, contact support.

How to recognize it

Instructions

Kiosk with a Chromebox (most 24"–50" models)

A small square box (about 15 cm / 6 in across) mounted behind the screen, with USB ports on the front. The screen size doesn't matter — if you have this box, it runs your kiosk.

22-27" SUNMI kiosk

An all-in-one touchscreen with the SUNMI name on the front bezel and back panel. Everything runs on the screen itself.

22" Elo touchscreen

An all-in-one 22" touchscreen with two physical buttons — Home and Power — on the back or side panel.

43" PCAP 4K kiosk

A large all-in-one touchscreen where settings open by tapping the top-right corner of the screen several times. There are no buttons on the unit itself.

After You Reconnect

Once the kiosk is back online, it may take a few minutes to re-sync the catalog. If products or images look incomplete at first, give it 5–10 minutes before troubleshooting further.

To confirm the kiosk is back online: press and hold the logo in the top-left corner of the screen (your store's logo, or the Home icon) for about 10 seconds until the status menu opens. A green Wi-Fi icon means the kiosk is connected and syncing.

If the icon is still gray, the kiosk isn't online yet — go back through the steps for your model, and if it still won't connect, contact support and mention what color the icon shows.

If It's Still Not Working

  • Your network doesn't appear in the list: Your network may be set to "hidden" on the router. Contact whoever manages your network to un-hide it temporarily, or contact support for help connecting manually.

  • The kiosk connects to Wi-Fi, but the catalog won't load: Your new internet service may include a firewall blocking the kiosk's connection to our servers. See Network Requirements & Domains to Allow or share that article with your IT provider.

When you contact support, include these three things so we can resolve it faster: which kiosk you have (from the table above), whether your network appears in the kiosk's Wi-Fi list, and which step you got stuck on.
