Overview
This article explains how to enroll a Chromebox into Wonder's managed workspace so the Catalog Kiosk app installs and launches automatically. Enterprise Enrollment links the device to our organization, which allows Wonder to push app updates, apply kiosk policies, and troubleshoot the device remotely.
Most Chromeboxes enroll automatically as soon as they connect to the internet. If a device asks for an email and password instead, manual enrollment is required, and manual enrollment always includes a short call to our Support Team at 855-408-9966, option 2 to receive a verification code.
Before You Start
Make sure you have the following ready:
A physical USB keyboard connected to the Chromebox (required to navigate setup)
A stable internet connection: Wi-Fi credentials on hand, or an Ethernet cable plugged in
An active Wonder subscription
A phone nearby: if manual enrollment is required, you'll need to call Support for a verification code
The Chromebox powered on and connected to your display
Step-by-Step: Enrolling Your Chromebox
Step 1: Start from the Welcome page
Power on your Chromebox. The device should display the Welcome page.
On the Welcome page, click Get started.
If the Chromebox does not show the Welcome page: the device needs to be factory reset (powerwashed) before it can be enrolled. Follow the article How to Powerwash Your Chromebox to reset the device. After the powerwash finishes, the Chromebox will restart on the Welcome page and you can begin enrollment from Step 1 of this article.
Step 2: Connect to the internet
Wi-Fi: Select your network from the list, enter your Wi-Fi password, and wait for the connection to confirm. Then click Next.
Ethernet: If the Chromebox is connected with an Ethernet cable, no network selection is needed, just click Next.
Step 3: Automatic enrollment (most devices)
If the Chromebox serial number is already enrolled with Wonder, the "Enterprise enrollment complete" page appears automatically after connecting to the internet. No email, password, or credentials are needed.
On the "Enterprise enrollment complete" page, click Done.
The Catalog Kiosk app will initialize on its own. If the device is already registered to your Wonder account, the catalog will begin downloading your product data automatically.
If the Chromebox asks for an email and password instead of showing "Enterprise enrollment complete": the device is either brand new or was previously deprovisioned. This is normal, continue with manual enrollment in Step 4.
Step 4: Choose the setup type (manual enrollment)
On the Chromebox setup page, select For work, then click Next
⚠️ If there is no "For work" option on the Chromebox setup page: the device is running an older version of ChromeOS. Select "You" instead, then click Next.
On the sign-in page that follows, do not enter an email, click More options, then select Enterprise enrollment. This opens the same enrollment screen. The Chromebox will update itself to the latest ChromeOS version after enrollment completes.
Step 5: Enroll the device in your organization
After selecting For work, the Chromebox displays the page "Enroll the device in your organization?"
Select Enroll the device.
Click Next.
The enrollment sign-in screen appears, asking for an email and password.
Step 6: Call Wonder Support to complete enrollment
The enrollment account is protected by two-factor authentication (2FA). Enrollment cannot be completed on your own — a one-time verification code is required, and verification codes are only issued by the Wonder Support team.
When the Chromebox asks for the enrollment email and password:
Call Wonder Support at 855-408-9966, option 2.
A support agent will provide the enrollment credentials and the verification code, and will stay on the line while you complete the enrollment together.
The call typically takes just a few minutes.
Step 7: Enrollment complete — the app launches
Once Enterprise Enrollment finishes, the Chromebox restarts into kiosk mode and the Catalog Kiosk app launches automatically.
If the Chromebox is already registered to your Wonder account: no further action is needed. Allow a few minutes for the catalog to download your product data on first launch.
If the screen shows a pairing code: the enrollment succeeded, but the device still needs to be linked to your Wonder account. Follow the article [How to Pair a New Device] to enter the pairing code and register the device. Once paired, the catalog begins syncing automatically.
From this point forward, the kiosk boots directly into the Catalog Kiosk app every time it powers on. Shoppers and staff will never see Chrome OS screens or settings.
Troubleshooting and FAQ
Enrollment fails with "A network communication problem occurred" Or, "Waiting for Network Connection" even though I'm connected to Wi-Fi.
Enrollment fails with "A network communication problem occurred" Or, "Waiting for Network Connection" even though I'm connected to Wi-Fi.
Being connected to Wi-Fi doesn't always mean the Chromebox can reach Google's enrollment servers. The most common causes are a network with a captive portal (Guest and shared business networks), a Wi-Fi password longer than 24 characters, or a weak Wi-Fi signal.
Fix: Connect the Chromebox with an Ethernet cable, or use a Wi-Fi network that doesn't require a sign-in page. The Chromebox can't complete a captive portal step during setup. If your Wi-Fi password is longer than 24 characters, shorten it in your router settings and reconnect. If the signal is weak, move the Chromebox closer to the access point. If the error persists on a wired connection, call Wonder Support at 855-408-9966, option 2.
After enrollment I see "You do not have enough upgrades to enroll this device."
After enrollment I see "You do not have enough upgrades to enroll this device."
There are two possible causes. Most often, the wrong enrollment type was selected on the final screen of the enrollment process: if you chose the kiosk or signage device option instead of enterprise device, this error appears. Less commonly, the error comes from Google's device management licensing, which is resolved on the Wonder side.
Fix: Restart the enrollment and, on the final selection screen after entering the credentials and verification code, choose the enterprise device option (not the kiosk or signage option). If you selected the correct enrollment type and the error still appears, call Wonder Support at 855-408-9966, option 2 and report the exact error message. Our team will verify license availability and complete the enrollment with you. Do not attempt to enroll the device under a different account or organization, as it would then need to be deprovisioned and re-enrolled to work with your kiosk.
I see a white screen after enrollment.
I see a white screen after enrollment.
The Enterprise Enrollment completed, but the Catalog Kiosk app didn't load. This can happen when the device wasn't reset before enrolling, or when the device needs additional configuration on our side before the app can run.
Fix: If you did not powerwash the Chromebox before enrolling it, reset it now by following the article How to Powerwash Your Chromebox and run the enrollment again from the Welcome page. If you already powerwashed the device before enrollment and still see a white screen, call Wonder Support at 855-408-9966, option 2. Our team will apply the required configuration to your device remotely and get the app running. Please have the device powered on and connected to the internet when you call.
Can I skip the Support call and enroll on my own?
Can I skip the Support call and enroll on my own?
No. The enrollment account is protected by two-factor authentication as a security measure, and verification codes are only issued by the Wonder Support team. This protects your device and our managed fleet. Call 855-408-9966, option 2. The call typically takes just a few minutes.
