How to Install the Wondersign Catalog Kiosk App on an iPad Tablet (iPadOS)

Have more questions? Submit a request

Requirements/Tools Needed:

  • The Catalog Kiosk application requires at least 8GB of storage on your iPad. Please make sure you have storage available before installing the app and downloading product data.
  • Please note that product images require disk space and the larger your product catalog is, more space is needed.
  • The app is only compatible with iPadOS version 13 or above.
  • Your iPad must have an internet connection (Wifi or Cellular).

Please Note: Downloading items may incur additional costs on certain cellular data plans, therefore, Wondersign strongly recommends using a WiFi connection. Wondersign cannot be held liable for incurred cost due to the usage of a cellular connection while using the Catalog Kiosk app for iPad.

Getting Started

1. Tap the App Store icon on your iPad tablet.

4. When the app launches, pair the device by entering the same login credentials you use to login to your Wondersign account at my.catalogkiosk.com. If you don't know your credentials or don't have access to them, you can also pair the tablet with a pairing code (see step #4b below).

4a. To pair the iPad using credentials, enter the following information:
  • Device Name: Give your device a unique name that makes sense to you. This helps identify the device in the list of connected devices in your account. For example: Store iPad
  • Email Address: Your username to log into my.catalogkiosk.com
  • Password: Your password to log into my.catalogkiosk.com

  • Click Back in the top left corner of the login screen.
  • The device will then display a 6-digit pairing code.
  • Open a browser and log in to my.catalogkiosk.com.
  • Navigate to the Devices section and click Add Device.
  • Enter the pairing code in the Create a New Device screen.
  • For more information on pairing devices, see How to Activate & Manage Devices

PRO TIP: When you see the option to Download in Background, you may select this to quickly pull up the Catalog Kiosk app while images continue to download as a background task. Some images may be missing at first, but all will eventually be loaded once the initial sync completes.

Please Note: If the device provides an error stating No products assigned (see image below), go to my.catalogkiosk.com and assign products. For instructions on assigning products and pricing, please visit the help article: Managing Products to Display

6. The Catalog Kiosk app is ready to use when the Home Screen (see below) appears:

Please Note: Recommendations for the minimum storage on your device heavily depends on the size of your catalog and the number of product images. A general recommendation is 500K (kilobytes) per image plus a buffer for the operating system and other Apps.

For example, if your catalog has 20,000 SKUs and is displaying the default of 4 images per product (total of 80,000 images), our storage recommendation would be 40GB for the images and app data plus an additional 5 to 10GB for other services to avoid running out of total hard drive space (total of 45 - 50GB of storage space).
