How to Edit Product Details

Edit a single product's name, description, categories, dimensions, and images with the Override toggle. Learn which fields are locked and how products with variants work.

💡Need to update many products at once? Use the bulk import workflow instead: How to Import Products.

Requirements

Open the Product Detail Page

  1. Click Content in the top navigation and select Products from the drop-down menu.

  2. On the Products page, search for the item by SKU, Name, Category, Brand, or Price.

  3. Click the desired product to open its Product Detail page.

Navigate the Product Detail Sections

The left navigation menu organizes each product into dedicated sections:

  • Details: All product specifications covered in this article (selected by default).

  • Pricing: Manage the product's pricing. See How to Set and Manage Product Prices

  • Related Products: Manage items shown as related to this product.

  • Variants: View and edit the product's variants (colors, sizes, configurations). See How to Edit Product Variants.

  • Components Included: View the components of a kit or bundle item. This section is read-only: each component lists its quantity, SKU, product name, and a link to that component's own Product Detail page.

  • Warehouse Inventory: View inventory information for this product.

  • Delete: Remove the product from your catalog.

How Overrides Work

Any field on the Details screen with an Override toggle is editable:

  1. Toggle Override on for the field you want to change, the toggle turns blue and the field becomes editable.

  2. Enter your new value.

  3. Click Save Changes in the top right corner of the page. To discard unsaved edits instead, click Undo Changes.

You can leave an overridden field empty. If you don't want a specific detail to display at all, toggle Override on and clear the value.

Fields You Cannot Edit

Some fields are informational only and have no Override toggle:

  • Status

  • Provider

  • Manufacturer

  • SKU

  • Origin

  • Freight Class

Why are these locked? Fields like SKU and Manufacturer are key identifiers our data management system uses (alongside the internal product key) to match each product against the provider's database on every update. Keeping them locked is what allows your catalog to sync reliably and prevents duplicate products from being created. The remaining fields display data that comes directly from the provider's feed.

Editable Product Details

Name

Change the product name that appears in the Catalog App. This also affects how the product appears in searches, and it's the title used on your website when syncing via Data API or an e-commerce connector — making this the place to optimize product titles for SEO.

If the product syncs through an e-commerce connector and has variants, the title shoppers see comes from the variant, not from this field. Edit the variant title in the Variants section instead. See How to Edit Product Variants

Consumer Brand

Edit the consumer-facing brand name displayed for this product. This is the field to use for whitelabeling: rename it to your own brand, and that's what shoppers see on your website and kiosks — the locked Manufacturer field stays untouched for syncing purposes.

Collection

Edit the collection name the product belongs to.

Categories

Change the categories under which this product appears. You can assign as many categories as you like — for example, an accent chair can live in Living Room, Bedroom, and Accents simultaneously.

  • To remove an assigned category, click the black X next to that category. :x

Product Type

Edit the product type classification (for example, Arm Chairs).

This value powers the Product Type filter in the Catalog Kiosk App, which lets guests refine their browsing by product type. To offer this filter to your shoppers, enable it in your Device Group Settings in Catalog App Manager.

On e-commerce connectors, this value also syncs to your website as a tag, improving product discoverability in your store's search and giving you a precise handle for building smart collections (for example, auto-collecting every product tagged Arm Chairs).

⚠️ Important: Clearing this field removes the product from Product Type filter results in the Catalog App — and removes the synced tag on your website, which can break smart collections that rely on it.

Description

Edit the product description in the rich text editor. The toolbar supports bold, italic, numbered lists, and bulleted lists.

Dimensions mentioned inside a description (arm height, doorway width, and so on) are independent of the Depth, Length, Height, and Weight fields further down the page.

Just like the Name field, if the product syncs through an e-commerce connector and has variants, the description shoppers see belongs to the variant. Edit it in the Variants section instead. See How to Edit Product Variants.

Attributes

  • Color: Edit the color of the product.

  • Material: Edit the materials included in the product.

  • Style: Edit the designated style of the product.

  • Size: Edit the designated size of the product.

  • Assembly: Edit the assembly designation (for example, Fully Assembled).

⚠️ Important: Exercise caution when changing the Color, Material, Size and Style fields. Removing these values will prevent the product from appearing when shoppers use those filters to narrow down search results.

Dimensions & Shipping

Enter a number into each field. The Catalog App displays these values in metric or imperial units depending on the localization settings in your account.

  • Depth

  • Length

  • Height

  • Weight

  • Direct Shipping: Indicate whether the product ships directly from the Manufacture.

  • Sold Individually: Indicate whether the product is sold as a standalone item (Products not sold individually will be automatically hidden from your catalog).

  • Introduction Date: Edit the product's introduction date.

  • UPC: Edit the product's UPC code.

Immersive View & 3D

  • Immersive View: Control the Explore in 3D experience for this product.

  • 3D View: Manage the URL of the product's 3D model file (.glb).

  • Video URLs: Add or edit product video links.

Main Image

Upload or replace the product's main image, this displays as the primary product image in the Catalog App.

  1. Toggle Override on for the Main Image field.

  2. Click the X in the top right corner of the existing image to remove it.

  3. Click Choose an Image to select a new main image.

Additional Images

Upload extra images that display alongside the main image in the Catalog App.

  1. Toggle Override on for the Additional Images field.

  2. Click the blue file-count link (it reads 1 file, 2 files, and so on, matching the number of additional images) to open the image manager.

  3. In the image manager, make your changes:

    • Add images from your computer under Local Files, or paste an image URL under Direct Link.

    • Remove a single image by clicking the trash icon next to it.

    • Remove all images by clicking Remove all.

  4. Click Add to confirm your selection.

  5. Click Save Changes in the top right corner of the page.

💡 Pro-Tip: You can reorder images by changing each picture's position. The order you set here is the exact order shoppers see in the app.
